Are you seeking a career that will challenge both the mind and body? Pittsburg State University, located in Pittsburg, Kansas, is actively recruiting for a Maintenance Technician position. The pay is highly competitive, with wages spanning $17.66 – $23.82 per hour.
Overview of Position:
Maintenance Technician The Maintenance Technician will play a key role in keeping the facilities of the University running smoothly. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
- HVAC and Refrigeration 65%: Responsible for the operation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC systems including, but not limited to: air handlers, pumps and condensers. Duties will also include equipment installation, designing and fabricating metal duct work.
- Electrical Work: 20% includes the installation and repair of electrical systems needed for functioning light switches, outlets, and fire and smoke alarms.
- Carpentry: 5% entailing general carpentry work, including furniture repair and replacing ceiling tiles.
- Plumbing: 5% entails taking care of hot and cold water lines, drainage systems, and other related plumbing areas.
- Other Maintenance 5%: Including lock repairs, gutter maintenance, and contracted repair services management.
Qualifications
We welcome applicants who can bring experience in the following:
- High school graduate or GED equivalent
- Minimum three years of general maintenance/repair experience
- Equipment operating experience.
